Interactive exhibition KPMWORLD
Immerse yourself in the world of royal porcelain manufactory KPM Berlin and head out on the trail of Friedrich II. (Friedrich the Great or Old Fritz), who founded the porcelain craft in 1763 which is still present today. All porcelain is produced almost entirely by hand and decorated with decors in freehand painting.
Directly on the manufactory grounds you can be inspired by the special atmosphere on the oldest Berlin industrial monument. Between Prussian history, royal ambience, notable design from Rococo to Bauhaus and recent developments such as the Bugatti Veyron L’Or Blanc only finest porcelain was used both in the body and in the interior. You have the opportunity to discover the most delicate handwork and experience the international design collections.
A visit to the KPM exhibition provides a unique insight into the craftsmanship and artistic creation of the 250-year-old luxury manufactory. You get access to unique exhibits that reflect the eventful history of this traditional manufactory of the Rococo period to the modern era of the 20th century.
Centerpiece of the exhibition is a visit to the historic ring furnace hall, which explains the different production processes. You learn everything - from the design to the finished porcelain. In addition, the exhibition now leads into the open workshop where you can look over the shoulder of the artists painting and decorating individual items. Walk into the festive Boccherini room and have a look on the festive table which is covered with valuables designed in the late 19th century. After the exhibition experience you have the opportunity in the KPM sales gallery to take a precious object made of handcrafted porcelain home.
